Rusel Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I have a 1955 chrysler that I want to convert to front disk brakes. Are kits available? Full size frame. Was a 300C.
bebop138 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Talk to Mark at Scarebird mechanical, he makes the brackets to mount the new stuff---very good--knows his stuff---should be able to pull him up on the computer---he made brackets for my 52 Windsor---Good Luck.......
mrpushbutton Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I know a guy with a 1955 300 (which is NOT a 300-c, but simply a 300. the prototype was termed C-300. the true 300-C is the 1957 model) who did a disc conversion. I will ask him what they used.
mopar380 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 AAJ Brakes in Portland Oregon specializes in bolt-on disk brake kits for 1955- 1962 Chrysler products. I have just installed a set on my 1962 Chrysler 300 Sport, on the front wheels. They are a very simple to install - take 3-4 hours to actually put them on including the plumbing and they work just great, see the web site http://www.aajbrakes.bravepages.com/Make sure your booster is working properly before you do the conversion, see my saga of the job on the Forward Look discussion forum. http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=9827&posts=19&start=1
