Philippe Racicot Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I just installed power vents to replace the broken manual ones on my 65 Wildcat. They work great!I first bought motors on eBay that didn't work for 53$, then I repaired them and had the gears repaired. Then I bought a regular power window switch from a 65 Electra (they used the same for the power vents) and a new 1963-67 Corvette power window switch as it had the same part number as the power vent switch for the '65 Wildcat with the 480 trim code. I used some wiring from a 67 Riviera and from a 76 Electra. Then I had to cut the chrome bezels to install the switches. Tomorrow, I'll send the door panels to the upholstery shop to have the crank holes filled and the cloth insert replaced. This is how it used to be... With the power windows I added two years ago.And now with power vents. I had to remove frames from this small animated gif to host it, the window operates better in reality than it does on this picture! My GM dealer's parts book helped me finding the correct switches with the part numbers.

Guest imported_Thriller Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Congrats Philippe...good to see you were able to persevere and make it happen. Looks nice and functional too...just they way a Buick should be
Philippe Racicot Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 Hi Derek, Does your Wildcat have this option? I have seen some documentation that showed that 66 Wildcats made in Canada that came with power windows had to have power vents too. And that was probably true for the 65 models too.
Philippe Racicot Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 Today, I had the upper section of the door panel redone and the vent window crank holes filled.
