R W Burgess Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 From an e-mail sent to me;Hi - My name is Ashli and I'm getting married to a "car guy" on June 10th. I am trying to find 4 classic cars (with their drivers) to hire to take my family from a church in Old town, Alexandria to the reception site at Hollin Hall (a 5 miles drive down the GW parkway). I have had no luck locating anyone. Can you offer me any suggestions or forward this email to anyone that might be interested?Thank you.Ashli Carpi(703) 598-3490Wayne
Guest imported_CarFreak Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 http://www.limousinesofamerica.com/antiquelimos.aspxSomeone is always looking for a vintage car for a weddings but most vintage car insurance companies don't cover that type of use for personal vehicles. Congrats and good luck! (It happens every Spring - brides looking for classic cars for their weddings...) Funny with my association with vintage cars, etc. and when my son got married last year there was no need for a limo or anything since the ceremony and reception were all on the same grounds. I wanted to get a car involved but it just didn't happen. Oh well!
mrpushbutton Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 We all have stories of an army of twenty-something girls clad in matching peach (or mauve, or shebert orange,or,or) bridesmaid dresses coming at our cars with a bunch of scotch tape and tissue paper flowers.
Shop Rat Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Several years ago Bill and I were walking in Colonial Willamsburg and there by one of the beautiful stone churches was a magnificent gray antique car (sorry can't remember what kind) with a chauffeur in the full uniform. The car had a small but beautiful spray of real flowers on the grill and a large bow on the rear bumper with the traditional tin cans tied to the streamers coming from the bow. Very elegant looking.
