HBergh Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Can someone advise me how the rear door leather restraint straps were attached to the 1919 Dodge Touring car body--under or over the leather upholstery? I have the leather and mounting hardware. When I viewed examples at the Tacoma Meet last July, I found the straps mounted both ways on various year vehicles. Thanks, Howard
Guest imported_RAH Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Howard, I apologise that no one has responded to you yet. I checked in the master parts book and the 'Door stop strap', P/N 6774 and 'Footman Loops' P/N 4701 are listed as for all tourings. The only change occurs at the '24 series where they added lockwashers and nuts. The straps, with footman loops, were NOT discontinued. As such, I would conclude the procedure of fastening same under the upholstry was incorrect. I hope this helps. Rodger "Dodger" Hartley
HBergh Posted May 16, 2006 Author Posted May 16, 2006 Thanks, Rodger. I was beginning to think my question was unanswerable.
