Guest BJM Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 My high bid is $850, reserve is met at $799. Has rust issues in floor boards and no back window. But look at that grille and overall quite complete. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1954-Buic...1QQcmdZViewItemSo my question to you Buick crowd is: Deal? or No Deal?
Guest rodney Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 All in all, I would say . . .Deal. Although I must admit that I am partial to early 50's Roadmasters. I like everything about them. And the name . . .Roadmaster, is there a better name for a car? Not in my book.Good luck!Rod
Guest imported_MrEarl Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Unless crazi-al is reading this and bids $855, looks to me like you're about to make a Deal. Man this ain't no easy restore. Lots of panel and body work needed. Where is the back seat? Looks like the power brake air line is gone from top of the manifold.Hopefully the rest of the p brakes is there. ie the vac pump, reservoir and booster. Personally the only thing that would make this a Deal for me would be if the rest of the glass is in very good to excellant condition. But that's me, I already have a couple. The 54 76R is pretty scarce. and to me is one of the classiest and most beautiful Buicks ever built. If you really love and want a 54 Roadmaster Riviera and plan on spending 50-60 thousand to restore it, what the heck, whats a few hundred bucks that it's gonna take to win this one gonna matter.IMO it's worth 10-14 as a project car. Go for it. email me if you have any particular questions.
Guest Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Take the value of a completed car: $22kYour $1,000 deal, + 21k you have in your pocket = 22k car!orYour $1,000 deal + $3,000 shipping + $1,800 in your pocket = $5,800 rusty car in your yard. This car needs everything.... do you want to drive it this decade?

BTW I noticed the front glass is bad. Knock off another couple hundred and don't worry about me sniping ya. Hopefully she's within 300 miles of ya.$300 and 300 miles is a good rule of thumb. That's my "typical" limit for a "typical" parts car. Will do an overnighter for an AC or solid 2 dr though
Pete Phillips Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I have one of these cars, also. If your plans are to restore this one, don't ever expect to recover your funds, unless you plan to keep it for about 25 years. That said, the parts on this car are definitely worth $850, if you decide to abandon the project and part it out. The power steering setup is highly valued and worth $200 or more. If the windshield is good, that's another $200. Each nice stainless steel side moulding is worth $25-50.Pete Phillips, BCA #7338
