Rattpac Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 That's next to tackle, my power steering ram started leaking from sitting. I would like to order a new seal BEFORE I tear it apart. I like to do my own work as much as possible and not send my parts out to the shops (I just don't trust them anymore)So, does anyone recall the seal number? converted to a CR or National number? any other gaskets needed to do this job?
Guest Albert Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 You will more than likely have to send the ram out and have i rebuilt, i most cases the ram has become pitted, which will chew up a new seal. The ram should be re hard chromed and them the seals replaced, check around for a hydraulic cylinder rebuilder, I have also though about just getting a new one made for my Patrician, just have to find a replacment for the tie rod ends..
mrpushbutton Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Rattpac--Call Max Merritt, tell Fred what you are working on. they have new seal kits made up. Fresh material.
