Guest F14CRAZY Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Who holds the high mileage Reatta record? I know some have been around 300k
Duke Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Mine is a wimpy 124k, but my fathers truck never rebuilt original engine, four 700r4 transmissions, an odometer thats stopped twice now the first time for about a year then magiclly started again and the second has been for about 6 months reads 290k, and he puts about 30k a year on it. So I'm guessing actual mileage is 335k. He plans on having funneral services when its dead and not repairable.
Guest inthespot Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 My '98 Ford Van has 308,000 on it ( oil pump took engine out at 207,000 got another from a junk yard with 98,000) but it does have the original transmission. I pull my trailer with it every week, it has a few noises but seems to keep going. Also have an '86 Mazda B2000 with 215,000 on it and its all original. Previous van was a '93 Ford Aerostar that had 245,000 when it cought on fire. Also had a '91 GMC Sonoma with 246,000 before it got ran off the road by an 18 wheeler (again all original 2.8 with 5 speed and ran ever so smooooth) I think that one would have gone another 246,000 as I never replaced anything on it but the breather, oil, filter, brakes, shocks and the tires two times.

I think there was something like 470k on the clock?
manikmekanik Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I'll never catch up to you in my 281,000 mile white/maroon '89 coupe! It's just under-went major teardown, due to need of parts to repair Panikmekanik's identical '88 coupe. It still runs/drives, but is now missing:RF fender, both headlamp assy.spassenger vent windowpassenger mirrorbatterybumperrub striplower front valancegrillefoglampspassenger turn signal/marking lampsIt'll still move-around on the farm, but won't be hitting the road for any serious miles anymore.
Guest EDBSO Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Why stop there. It would be an interesting experiment to get the sawsall out and convert it into a removable hard top roadster? Just a thought.
tinknocker88 Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 geez, i guess we'll be rookies. our 'new' 88 is showing 77,760.!!! tinknocker88
manikmekanik Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Granted the majority of the front panels are missing, it would make a better trailer, with the nose sawz-all(ed) off!Remaining white front panels are:hoodLF fender(2) LF turn/marker lamp assy.perfect lower valance w/perfect grillevery good bumper w/foglampsupper bumper valanceinner fendersL&R headlamp assy.s w/o motors-1 white, 1-claret.I used the worst parts from both cars to repair "Bambi killer" and set the pristine parts aside for a worthy resto car, or to sell to offset expenses.Still have plenty of 88-89 crop parts to "harvest" out behind the barn, due to a "bumper crop" raised-up over the last couple seasons.Bambi killer needs only to get a brake service to be done, probably this week. Next will be either the '89 claret(s), or the '88 black/tan suede coupe.Unless any of them sell first, or winter ends abruptly.
Guest F14CRAZY Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Would be a sweet trailer. Remind me to do that someday
manikmekanik Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Lemme know when you're ready, F14! It'll sell cheap! It'll probably still be sitting here! Bring a tongue and a welder, haul it home!
