Tedd,

Sure looks like it was worth the 4 years of restoration. Thanks for sharing pictures.

This brings back good memories. Late 1954, I had got out of uncle Sam's army smile.gifI had a new wife, new job, and bought a new 1955 Olds. I still have the wife, but not the Olds.

Happy motoring. Curt

Hallo,

I'm a proud new owner of a 56 Super 88 Sedan Olds I just imported from USA. I'm trying to register it in Italy but it's hard for:

- I'm not be able to find out where the chassis number is stamped;

- the technical inspector asked me all the datas (fiche) of this car: where can I find it?

Thanking in advance for your help,

Raffaele - Italy

I had one just like it but mine was rough as the previous owner just let it sit under a tree,I drove it from 83 to 90 when I lost my indoor storage so I sold it. I sold it to someone in Indianapolis and it went to Oregon or Washington and then someone in Minnesota bought it and finally started to restore it. Jeff

Raffaele, There is no "chassis #. (Actually there is one stamped on the top rail but it can not be seen with out removing the body). The serial/identification # of the car is stamped on a steel plate welded to the driver side door frame. It is the only # that counts. The engine # is meaningless and the data plate on the fire wall mearly indentifies the body type and equiptment...........Bob
