Guest oldsmobile1915 Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I purchased a 1915 Oldsmobile Model 42 (I will try to attach a photo) and it literally came to me in baskets. I would like to get the engine and transmission together and the vehicle running soon, but I don't know if I have everything or how it all goes together.Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,Joe Ferrero1915 Oldsmobile Model 42
Steve Moskowitz Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 4 1915 model 42 owners are listed in the HCCA roster. Do you have the parts book, manuals, etc.?
Guest oldsmobile1915 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Hi Steve,I do not have the HCCA roster. How can I find out who has these vehicles and or possibly get in contact with them?I have some xerox copies of some manuals but I believe that they are for similar vehicles, and not necessarily for the Model 42. Any copies of any and all kinds of literature are welcome. As you saw in the initial post, the vehicle has a lot of parts. The body was set in place on the chassis, and most of what would bolt to the vehicle is off of the vehicle. Many things that I can identify, I don't know where it goes or how the parts go together, but there are many things that I can't identify and have no clue where they go or what they do.sometimes pictures are very helpful but talking to the people that have gone through what I am about to take on is priceless.Once again, Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again,Joe Ferrero1915 Oldsmobile Model 42
Guest oldsmobile1915 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Hey Steve, Being an Oldsmobile guy, I would love to see your collection of Oldsmobiles (both past and present). This is just a status report and a few questions...I am finding a lot of information on the 1915 Olds Model 42 and some parts and pieces in the boxes that were sent to me with the car... I haven?t located a complete transmission and clutch assembly, 2 of the 4 hub caps, or the muffler ends yet. Do you have any leads on this? I am also trying to locate photos of all the 1914-1915 Model 42's (and similar pre-1920 Oldsmobile) I would like to put on my website. ( www.geocities.com/oldsmobile1915 )If you can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it!Besides AACA and HCCA, which car clubs do you find to be the most beneficial to assist in restoration and information (both in general and with this type of Oldsmobile)? Sorry for all the questions, I appreciate any help I can get! Thanks again,~Joe Ferrero1915 Oldsmobile Model 421947 Oldsmobile dynamic 761948 Oldsmobile Dynamic 66
