I run a small metal fabrication shop in Upstate New York, and we had a customer bring in the right quarter panels of a 1959 Austin Healey for repair/restoration.

We agreed but were given little to go on. Fortunately our shop manager is a clever fellow and a few web-searches later, it appears we have the right side of a '59 BN6. He got right on replacing the rotted out patches with 19 gauge steel.

Our part of this project is minor, as we specialize in metal working. I hope you enjoy the shots we provide in bringing part of this car back from nearly scrap.

We've asked the owner to let us have some pictures of his project and especially the completed car. I will post them if I can get them.

Well I was going to post an update, but somehow got locked out. Finally got fed up and created a new ID. Sorry if I left anyone on the lurch.

Our work on the Austin Healy is done.

We're just waiting for the owner to pay us and come pick it up. A new slide show of some of our work on it can be seen here.

We also shot some video of the work.

We've not gotten any further requests for work on vintage vehicles, but I will be back to post pictures when we do.
