Guest imported_JPIndusi Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 I know that the 53 Buick Series 40 cars came with a rubber front floor mat. Was there an option for a fully carpeted front mat? Thanks for any information you can supply.Joe BCA 33493
Guest my3buicks Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Joe, I don't have my 53 books and lit anymore, but I was pretty up on them when I had my 53 Super - the answer would be no, even in the super, the answer was no.
Guest imported_MrEarl Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Joe, the books show only the 76R and 76C (Roadmasters) coming standard with carpet in 1953.
Guest imported_JPIndusi Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Thanks MrEarl and Keith. I have noticed that vendors claiming to offer carpet sets for 1953 Buicks will never guarantee the fit on a Special. They claim that they use the original floor layouts to make their carpets (sewn or molded) but they probably use the Series 50 and 70 floors. I have had a similar problem on my 48 Special Sedanet, the carpet I purchased was clearly for a somewhat larger car, probably a Super or Roadmaster.Joe, BCA 33493
