It would help to be a little more specific about what parts you need, and I am sure I can help you on what parts are interchangeable from other MOPAR cars. Einar.

Engine, body and trim parts are going to be specific to '55 Chrysler Windsor.

General body is same '55 & '56.

Brake and suspension should be same as other '55-'56 Chrysler (except 300 and Imperial).

Wheel bolt pattern may be larger than De Soto /Dodge/ Plymouth...

The engine listed is a 301 cid "Spitfire" V-8, which is the MoPar "Poly" motor...not a Hemi.

In '56, The Windsor got the 331 Hemi, as the bigger Chryslers moved up to the 354 Hemi.

Plymouth also used a "301" in '57, but this appears to be the "LA" motor, which is the same family as the 318 cid. small-block. Different engine.

(If the two "301"s are based on the same block, they do have different bore and stroke.)

Good luck !

Try Rhode Island Wiring...they have had what I needed for my '51 De Soto and my '50 Imperial. REAL nice to deal with as well and they are exact replicas of the original....right down to the ends...and all come with a wiring diagram.

speaking of compatible, does anyone know if the emergency brake is the same for a 54 windsor and the 55 and 56 windsors? i believe they all use the same powerflite so the emergency brakes should be identical.

All eight-cylinder Chryslers from '49 -on used an internal-expanding parking brake.

Believe six-cylinder Chryslers continued to use the external band through '54 ?

Perhaps the Powerflite-equipped models used the internal brake no matter which engine...I don't know for sure.

According to Andy Bernbaums's parts catalog, the internal parking brakes used the same shoes from '53-'62.

Jon,

I did the transmission harness on my De SOto and Imperial. I also did the auto choke and hood ornament light and wires for the distributor. I think the tranny harness was around $100 and the others were fairly inexpensive...like $8-$15 or so. You can go on their website and see what they offer for your car. They include prices. The nice part about this outfit is all that they offer is from originals that they have had in their hands so they KNOW what they are offering is correct...right down to guage, colors, stripes and ends.
