You may want to include the link to the ebay posting, if you want a fast response.

BigKev you are right but I am still not very good to say the least in posting links. Last time I tried it was not successful to say the least. Sorry.

I think you are talking about this one.

I doubt the interior is a copy of the original, but it looks Good to me.

<img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I don't think Packard ever did Red, It was considered a Low-class color back then. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Wasn't brown the defacto interior color for most of these cars?

Yes, for fabric interiors it was either brown, tan or mauve (pink-tan).

and for leather it was brown or black.

A frien of mine has a 39 110 copepe convertable with rumble seat and it's has the original red leather interior which matches the red exterior.

To me (not an expert in 30's Packard for sure) the red looks totally incorrect. I don't see many red interiors AT ALL in any 30's car and definitely not that bright red YET the car is bid into the $20 thousands already??

...plus there was no rumbleseat in '39, so indeed that car must be custom bodied..WOW, what a find, a 39-110 convertible with a custom body...I'd like to see some pictures of that...

Is it a '37 or a '39? Were rumbleseats available in '37? I'm no expert, so I don't know.

As for the interior, I thought you could pretty much get whatever you wanted back then. Packard especially, at least for the senior cars, would paint it lavender and bright green with a yellow interior if that's what the owner wanted. Would the junior cars be different? Perhaps the body tag could shed some light? I don't know what data is listed there.

I am certain that Buick and Cadillac of the same vintage would pretty much make any car any color the buyer wanted, or at least allow them to mix-and-match from available colors and materials. For instance, my 1941 Century was originally silver over black with a gray cloth interior (tan or gray cloth was standard on closed cars). But it will be equally authentic when I paint it silver over blue with a red leather interior, because red leather was available on open Buicks in 1941 and could be special ordered on the closed cars for an additional charge. Could Packard have been the same? Sure, it's a little bright for 1937, but it could be possible, no?

I'd love to have this car in its current condition. Packard 120s are also one of my top picks for affordable ways to get into the hobby (not that I'm anyone special or anything): http://www.harwoodperformance.bizland.com/1941buick/Editorial%2034.htm

This thread was first about a '37 on eBay, but then we started talking about a '39 that Albert knew about.

Yes, there were '37s with rumbleseat but I don't think so in '39. (maybe special custom order in '39) I have a picture of a '37 Roadster that has rumbleseat and then another trunk opening behind it. I've never seen a '38 or '39 with rumbleseat.

And Yes Red would be a special order color, only.
