Rawja
The keyhole light on the passenger side door of my '89 does not illuminate, and all the courtesy lamps appear to be working properly.
Does the keyhole light have a seperate bulb that might be burned out or does the fiber optic cable tie into another light source? Any info would be appreciated.
Barney Eaton
You must remove the door panel to get to the bulb that lights the door lock through a fiber optics light tube.
------------------
Barney Eaton Reatta technical advisor for BCA and keeper of the Reatta database. Guest Greg Ross
Barny,
On the "88 the two lens below the armrest are removeable without taking the entire panel off. There are two bulbs within the housing, the fiber-optic only picks up from the forward-"White" covered bulb.
If both bulbs are working then it will be necessary to remove the door panel. The fiber-optic lead plugs into a moulded socket on the back side of that lamp housing.
[This message has been edited by GM Ross (edited 02-21-2001).]

Rawja
Ross was correct- just plugged in the fiber lead into the courtesy light housing and it now works. If I wasn't removing the interior panel anyway, it could have been fixed by popping the bottom of the trim panel only. Thanks!
