MattR
A couple weeks ago a few of you helped me id a Touring body I picked up as a 1918. I've since done a bit of cleaning up on the firewall and found numbers stamped on the upper right portion. The numbers are 1259572. Can anyone give some details about what these numbers mean? Guest imported_RAH
Matt, Sorry, no! From the beginning after the diversity of body types commercial, passenger, open cars, closed cars, etc. the individual types' body numbers have became for all practical purposes irrelevant in tracking down a cars vintage. The official car number will be that number stamped on the chassis frame. The engine numbers have been 'rule of thumb' appx. 50,000 higher than that chassis number, but body numbers do not track. Guest 18DodgeBrothers
Rodger is right about the firewall numbers not meaning much. Just for comparison, the firewall number on our 1918 DB touring is T144421.
