Ames63
I'd like to thank everyone who was assisting me with the trunk latch on my son's car. I have a new problem today, while driving my brake pedal stiffened up, I guess it was like a sensation of losing hydraulics. Can someone enlighten my as to what part of the braking system is faulty. I did read a previous post about the ABS system but could not derive any useful information as our symptoms appeared to be different. HELP
Guest MauiWowee
Try taking the brake test at Reatta.net and report back with the results.
manikmekanik
...AND DON'T DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL YOU'VE DISCERNED THE PROBLEM!In my experience, the "stiffning" is what you feel just before "NO BRAKES".
Jim
Usually when you have a hard pedal and no brakes the valves in the valve body of the ABS unit are sticking. This is a result of the natural tendency of brake fluid to attract moisture and this moisture causes corrorsion in the system. This is why it is very important to change the brake fluid every two or three years. I have complete ABS units available tht are in good working condition and can be reached at jfinn@cpinternet.com
