need fuel sending unit for 1973 apollo..

Recommended Posts

Ted,

Just an educated guess here, but the sending unit from any similarly equipped GM X-body of that year should fit (Chevy Nova, Olds Omega, and Pontiac Ventura). Chevys and Ponchos had the highest production runs by miles, so that'd be the first look that I'd have.

Cheers,

JMC

Yes, but the 73-74 is not made for by after market, you will need to find a working unit in a yard, or cut off end of sender and solder on the flat copper end to sender to your unit, find a x body 75-80 and cut off and solder on the end of the copper lead to your lead. no 73-4 is available other wize. craig

Ted,

I got home and checked my NOS sending units, and the only one that is identified is for a 1973 A-body, which is the intermediate Regal or Century. I have at least a dozen others from that era, so if you can pull yours out and send me a photo, I can try to match it.

Ted,

Look in the "services offered" section of Hemmings Motor News, there are a couple of companies that advertise that they rebuild sending units. I check for new ones at www.gastanks.com and Craig is right, 68-72 is a available as is 76 and up, but no 73-75 X body sending units!

HTH,

Tim
