Rolf
Hi, My newly acquired 1941 Zephyr is missing the left front shock absorber and link, and I would like to replace it, do you have access to one of these?? Thanks a lot, Rolf
CBoz
Wish I could help, Rolf. All I have are '37-8, probably not the same at all.
Rolf
Au Contraire Cece!!! The "bible" says, "16H 18046-B Body and arm assy (front shock absorber) '36-'41. Apparently only the '42 and up were a different shock, I had thought they were all different too, but a '37 '38 Left front shock with a link would work just fine, E-mail me at rolf@got.net, and let's do some business!! Thanks a lot, Rolf
CBoz
Sounds good, Rolf. I will pull them out tonight and get pics so we can verify that what I have is what you need.

Rolf
Hey Cecil, I never got a message, forward it to rolf@got.net thanks a lot, Nick got the new used '42 engine installed today, hope runs high that it was as good as was touted, rain predicted tomorrow, and he is working outside, so maybe next week, but would still like to get that shock replaced, Rolf
Rolf
Cecil came through on the Shock, but he didn't have a link HB18056, fits 1940 t0 '48, any help on that, thanks, Rolf
CBoz
Sorry, Rolf -- whoever removed these shocks basically tore off the link, destroying the end. Wish I could help.
CBoz
Rolf -- I looked more closely at the torn-up link and it didn't have a Zephyr part number or anything on it. It's probably a repro. I would think it would be the same as a Ford link of the same length. Anyone know for sure?
Rolf
I found out the fronts from 1940 to 1948 take a 4" link on the front shocks, this goes between the arm and the axle, fortunately they are the same as Ford, and Sacramento Vintage has them, for a hefty price, so if you are working on your shocks, preserve those links. My problem is now solved, with a little help from my friends, hope some of this info is helpful, thanks everybody, Rolf
mlander
Don't know for certain this will help but go to the address below there is about 40 pages about Houdaille shocks and also links. http://www.tocmp.com/manuals/Ford/Haudaille/pages/houdaille%2010_jpg.htmM.L.
