JohnD1956 6,215 Posted October 24, 2005 Share Posted October 24, 2005 I can't rememebr who posted the thought but someone here theorized that the unused dynaflow will allow the oil inside the torque converter to drain back into the pan, thus overfilling the pan. Now if you used your Buick every day the seal would probably seal up and hold up against a temporary overfill condition. This does happen to me when I use my 56 regularily. But I had an 85 Buick with the overdrive tansmission once and I accidentally overfilled it. It poured out the rear seal till it hit it's level and then didn't leak anymore.
