I think this would make it suited for a 1955 Constellation. I think the engine must have been replaced out of another vehicle. They don't stamp normal vin numbers on replacement engines. It may have suffered some catastrophic damage and had the engine replaced in 1957 by which time the original dealer would have been out of business or signing on to Edsels or VWs.
