Guest 1956Packard
Listed again. This time with no reserve - in an attempt to weed out those who want to bid just as 'sport' (we'll see what happens). E-Bay Auction

Guest 1956Packard
Thanks Joe it sure is - and as it turns out it's still available. I'm open to reasonable offers (but sorry no trades). The car has to go.Geoff
Guest Randy Berger
Why do you say it is a 1955 engine, because of the number stamped on the block?
Guest 1956Packard
Randy:The numbers are difficult to read, but from what I see the engine is stamped 5567-8841. I think this would make it suited for a 1955 Constellation. It sure runs good though....

Guest 1956Packard
I don't like giving out VIN's, but I know where you're going so I'll give you enough to confirm. The VIN is 5647-40**.
Guest Randy Berger
Thanks Geoff for allowing me to try to understand the 55 engine in a 56. I think the engine must have been replaced out of another vehicle. They don't stamp normal vin numbers on replacement engines. It may have suffered some catastrophic damage and had the engine replaced in 1957 by which time the original dealer would have been out of business or signing on to Edsels or VWs. Guest 1956Packard
All that being said, it's still for sale, and quite frankly a very easy restoration. I'd keep it and do it myself if it wasn't that I need the space - in the worst way.Contact me if you have any interest.
