sparkmanttx
Can anyone tell me how many inches of vacuum I should expect out of a 425CID, 360HP Nailhead from a 64 Riviera? Thanks in advance for any help.
Roadhog
Sparky, I believe any engine in good condition should run 17 or 18 inches of vac. at idle if its stock. A race cam will lower vac. readings.
DugsSin
Well my stock 65-401 has 19-20 at idle in gear and around 22 just driving around.
55PackardGuy
There was a thread on here talking about how some nailheads did have some "cam" but I think that ended with the 401s in the late 50's though don't know for sure. They are said to even have a little "rump" at idle.
sparkmanttx
Thanks for the input guys. Sorry, I haven't been on the computer in a while but I appreciate this information. It sounds like I should be OK with a stock cam.Have a great day.
