Guest
1990 Reatta dash keeps going out. The volt meter will go real high and the "electrical problem" light will come on and then the dash will go blank. It will come back on in a few seconds to a few minutes. Our local dealer could find nothing wrong, of course it acted fine when they drove it. Any advise on this would be appreciated.
tjenkins
There has been many posts here related to the screen dropout. Specifically, one of the reasons might be that the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) does not make a good electrical connection in the back of the unit.
Use the search function, or go to this web site, click on FAQ and "Touchscreens". Although commented for the 88/89 models with touchscreens, the 90/91's also apply with regard to the back connector.
www.pixi.com/~jenkins/reatta
--Tom
Guest
Finally found the problem. The altenator was shorting out, causing it to overcharge. Evidently this was causing the dash to blank out.
