BRAKES & ABS -- IMPORTANT

Folks, if you have experienced ANY problems with your ABS or brake system in your Reatta and haven't already done so, I urge you to call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's HOTLINE (1-888-DASH-2-DOT), or file a complaint at the NHTSA website: <BR> <A HREF="http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/hotline/" TARGET=_blank>http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/hotline/</A> <P>NHTSA has recently recalled almost every singe GM SUV on the road (over a number of model years) for ABS problems. They are now launching an investigation of the Bosch ABS used in the Allante (based on complaints eerily similar to ours). They have not YET decided on the Reatta.<P>This is important! The more complaints they have, the more seriously they take it. They look for trends, so if you've just started having problems, this is the time to tell them.<P>If you have not experienced any problems, hang tight and don't submit to NHTSA at their complaint web site. Jim Gough (WheresJim) is setting up a petition drive and we'll solicit your support when that's ready. If you want to privately contact NHTSA in the meantime, you can also get the address from the above website and do so. I encourage that action for sure. Just don't file anything but actual incidents of failure using the customer complaint form.
