Puka
Hello: a lot of people helped me when I was restoring/fixing my Buick. Wanted to let you know some good places that I was happy with:
Harbor Brake, San Pedro, CA. (Pacific Ave). 3rd generation owner. These guys are the best. They are 100% honest and do a lot of old cars. They also have all the old equipment to do alignments, shocks, etc.
Howards Auto Repair. (6th Street). San Pedro, CA. Excellent old-school mechanic. Can do anything from complete restore up. 100 honest. I know dozens of people who have dealt with these guys. If somethings not right, they fix it.
Habor Battery (San Pedro, CA): Guy has been there for about 50 years. A hell of a good guy. Honest too.
Wiring: I was very happy with Rhode Island Wiring. They were expensive but good.
Bob's Automobilia. Great at rebuilds. Good stuff.
Wiperman.com did a good job.
Buick Specialists - good people, though I gather they've changed owners and don't know about the new guys.
I wasn't as happy with Classic Buicks in Chino, CA. I ordered some stuff from them and they sent me the wrong stuff. I found out later when I took a closer look. My fault I guess. I also find there stuff over-priced. I just have always found them rude and condescending. Perhaps a personality conflict but the tone of the people there reminds me of the snobs I had to put up with when I was studying for my doctorate of all things! Again, I stress the problem may've been mine personally.
Guest Skyking
Puka, I'm very surprised you had bad luck with Classic Buick. I've used them a number of times for all my Buicks and they were very pleasant to deal with. I had different people answering the phone and all were courteous going out of their way to answer questions.......
