JLH
I am trying to identify the car in the photo, which was taken in Europe (Czech.) in the mid to late 1950s. I thought the car might be a Desoto, but I am not sure.thanks in advance,-Jeff
1937hd45
Welcome to the AACA Forum! The car is a Buick, not sure of the year 1950-52.
michel88
I think it is a '51 buick. I would like to have it in that condition today.Woody Michel

novaman
I think it is a '50 Buick. Looks just like the one one of our members has. It was on our show flier last year. If I could only find the flier now.
novaman
Found the flier. Not a '50. emblem on the front of the hood id different and the '50 has less vertical bars on the grille.

West Peterson
Novaman: There's no mistaking a 1950 Buick. They're the only ones where the grille looks like a whole bowl of spaghetti is coming out of it, right over the bumper. I'd love to have one. Especially a convertible. What a sight! JLH
Mr. Bleakney,Thank you - I think you are absolutely correct. After I read your reply I found this add for a 1951 Buick convertible, and the grill is identical.
novaman
West, it isn't a '62-'67 Chevy II. Therefore, I can easily mistake what year it is. At least I had it narrowed to 2 year span before I looked for the picture I had to verify.
Guest De Soto Frank
Weren't the '50 Buicks nicknamed the "Buck-toothed Buick" ?
HarryJ
JLH.... This appears to be a 1951 Buick series "50" convertible coupe. I don't believe it is a series "70" as it has no rocker panel moulding. It is not a standard series 40 as it has a one piece windshield.
