Guest SalG (Sal Grenci)
my wife is doing much better, she will be discharged Tuesday. Both boys are breathing on their own, with oxagen, they are only on one antibiotic, receiving Lipids and Glucose. The little guy is under the light, a little too yellow. The are getting CAT scans of the brain today to check for bleeding. All the MD's and RN's say they are doing well for their age 29 weeks. rgshafto
That's great Sal, so glad to hear it! Isn't it amazing what medical science can do? We complain about the cost, but how do you put a value on something like this??

Shop Rat
So glad to hear that they are doing well. Any idea when they get to come home?I actually have a ferret that outweighs the little guy. "Junior" is 3 lbs. and 4 oz. So he must be very tiny. Just wait until he is like my sixteen year-old grandson, 6' 2" and 205 lbs. and asking for the keys to the car. JanK
Sal, I don't know how both Vern and I missed this post. Blame the holidays and too much work, I guess.First, congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of two wonderful sons. Your first child is gorgeous and I assume your wife contributed the same genes to these two.Second, I'll also keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. It's not easy having a premature child and you're dealing with it times two. Almost 10 years ago my sister gave birth to my niece 2-1/2 months early. Ashley weighed in at 2 lbs 6 oz and a mere 14 inches long. She was born at the end of April and came home on Father's Day. You'd never know she was a preemie by looking at her today; she's sharp as a whip, physically strong and annoying as heck. In other words, perfectly normal! I wish the same for you and your boys. I won't look for you in Philly this year; I'm assuming you'll have your hands full at home.Keep the faith!Jan K.Wis Region
