WCraigH
Beautiful car! You gotta love that "monster from the sea" grille. Plus, IMO that Cormorant was one of the best designs ever.

Jay and Pat
Mark Patty 400 and all:A long time friend of mine recently gave me an old(yeah, what else?) cormorant hood ornament that he said came off his father's '51 Packard. The reason being, that "dad" found an old one like it years ago and put it on the car, but not until he'd taken it to the shop and put hinges on the wings, operable through a cable that he located on the dash. Chuck said the OLD MAN got many a laugh when the local bars emptied on to the street to see the "MECHANICAL HOOD ORNAMENT"! I, for one, am very sorry I missed seeing that one. Guest imported_Speedster
The Wildest Packard hood ornament I've ever seen is this one. It was also the Radio Antenna. I think it came out in '38. FRANKL
very nice car. i love the color. it looks black in the first 2 pictures but you can see the blue in the last one. it looks like metallic flake or is that the raindrops?
Guest 51Patty400
Thanks. It's good colour went wet :-)My wonderful father who ignored my instructions to put it in the barn and instead drove it around for a few days, left it outside and it had 1 inch of snow on it.It rained that morning and most of the snow melted off. Sadly the dry paint colour is not nearly as nice and has heavy signs of bad buffing. You can see the swirls in the paint/clear coat.Next year I will be having it painted if I can find the odiginal colour. This was painted once (badly) darker blue.- Mark

You might be pleasantly surprised at the result.
Twitch
Fine looking ride! Hate to see her wet. When will it be decent enough weather to get her out again, March-April? Gee we're having rain in So. Cal. now for like one day and I hate it. My Missouri memories of long ago with snow and ice are bad ones indeed.
