56Roadmaster
Hi,
A couple of thoughts, They did make conical shims maybe you can still get some through a MSC or Grainger catalog.
To see how badly worn you are put prussian blue in the hub (light coat) set hub on axle firm and turn the hub a small arc while keeping axle stationary then remove the blue will show how badly worn you are. Then you may be able to set up in a lathe to true the inner surface of the hub and the axle( if the hub is worn the axle is too). then you can get or make shim to position the hub out again. Also you can have the axle metal sprayed and taper reground. There is also Winicker's junk yard on Forsythe Rd. In Salem CT. He has some old (1920's) maybe older Buick stuff, but you would have to look for yourself, all thats left is basically chasis stuff, He is only open on sat and Sun for two hopurs around miday.
