Guest oldtimer Posted May 2, 2002 Share Posted May 2, 2002 Thank you to both of the scotts, i believe the '56 is the same. i'm also looking for a picture of the upper control arm/king pin set up (even a side view or attached to the frame will work), i just want to see what it looks like. i have the '50 and '53 shop manuals but the '54-'56 has no friction shock (i was told). Anyway the 56 has the familiar tube type shock which attaches to lower arm and the frame.Control arms attach to steering knuckle support to which spindle and steering knuckle is attached via king pin. Taylor, i'm 32 some of the people i know started to call me that. most of the things i like are from the 30's-early 60's and it sort of stuck.
