R W Burgess
Having just posted a reply to Tommy27 about missing him, I remembered something one of the DFer's said this weekend. He stated that all of us Dfer's should carry a signboard indicated when the "Df meeting" will be. I've got a better idea. Assuming it's nice again next year, we should all wear a special colored t-shirt with logo, something like "Official DF BSer". I know of a company who will put anything on t-shirts in most any color. Of course, if the weather turns bad, that wouldn't work. At least, we could be on the lookout for each other as a lot of us were busy on the showfield or whatever and never had a chance to meet any of us. Any ideas, or what do you think? 1937hd45
Same thing happened with members of another board I'm on. Unless you make a list of flea market space numbers it is tough to pick out members in the croud.

novaman
how's this for a logo? check attachment. I used nearchoclatetown's name to check username length.
novaman
by the way before ya'll get on my case. Yes, I know I misspelled Forum. If it is a logo we want to use I'll fix it. Open to any other suggestions for the logo.
1937hd45
Novaman, I like that logo idea a lot! A button with that logo in a cap would help us locate one another.
Dave@Moon
I'd suggest using a bright but light color for the background to catch the eye, and also a space for writing in our nom-de-plume.
Tom M
Novaman,Nice Job.I have not attended a show of that size as of yet. But I have been to the Carlisle show that was on Fathers day of 2003.
novaman
I am going to check into what a button maker would cost. I figured I could print the username where it says "nearchoclatetown" if the DFers would like a button. I'd just like small fee to cover the cost of the button. Not interested in any profit from friends. Also, I may be able to have them made on tshirts. Haven't checked on the cost there yet. I wouldn't put the name on those. Also, I might try making a couple of sign for the DF meetings at the shows.
R W Burgess
Great looking button, Dave! Make the button BIG! This might just work. Guest
leave the forum misspelled.... it's the way we do it..put me down for a button and a pair of undies... one will last me the whole meet!
novaman
For the buttons, something in the 2" to 3" diameter range? As for the t-shirt idea, I was think orange shirts but I'm not sure How the logo would look. I'll check that color idea when I get home tonight. Probably will need to change the blue to black.I'll present all the ideas for logo use in a couple of days. R W Burgess
Thanks Dave. My wife says 3" is too big. I say the bigger the better. Guest
David ~ Neat logo. Great design concept. tommy may be onto something about the misspelling. It does define us rather nicely. Probably won't fly though.hvs
R W Burgess
Howard, The misspelling might not fly, but it looks like we'll ahve enough interest to put the cap pins together.I like the idea. Wayne
DugsSin
The only drawback to a t-shirt is it's cold at Hershey and other events it the AM and the tee would be buried under my jacket. I like the button idea.
novaman
Time for you to do some maintenance there. Thinner blood flows better when it is cold outside. I know that some people bundle up at Hershey but I was looking at the T-shirt idea for those summer days at national shows when it is 350° outside. Also, my main attire is a T-shirt with something printed on it.
Guest Indiana_Truck
I have seen some of the guys from the ATHS make up a hat with a logo but made the hat orange so it jumps out at shows. Easy to spot those guys!
Guest BruceW
Some type of easy recognition of DFers whether it be a hat or t-shirt or button would help identify fellow DFers. Attached is an uncropped version of my DF profile photo. It shows the t-shirt I am wearing, which is often worn at car events by members of a Model A Ford Chat that I am active with who unofficially call ourselves the "Ahooga Gang". In a busy place such as Fall Hershey, it makes it real easy to recognize fellow members further down an isle. The shirt is actually more brighter and floresent than it looks in the pic. The t-shirts were very successful and has helped many members of the "Ahooga Gang" to meet for the first time in person.
novaman
Bruce, along with the button idea, I was thinking of an Orange T-shirt with big version of logo on the back with a smaller version on the pocket. The orange shirts would stand out even if your not close enough to read the logo.I am going to check on prices for some of these ideas this week and report back. novaman
Ron, what size buttons? I was looking at personalizing the buttons with the username, therefore each one would be unquie. DizzyDale
Dear Wayne,I vote for the buttons with individuals HANDLE on em.Hershey can be a little chilly for a T shirt. An orange T shirt is TOOOOOOO big a target for SADIE even though she(gender is in question)uses a small caliber handgun.diz
24T42
I also have a Badge-A-Minit machine that I use for the Brass-Nickel nametags. My makes a 2 1/4 inch button badges although there is a machine that makes 3 inch buttons. You can make either a pin back or bull dog clip. The cost is about 25 cents each. Hope this gives you an idea about sizes and prices. On word of caution - the design, if used on this type button, needs to rather simple. There is not a lot of room on a 2 1/4 inch button particularly if you want the name to be large enough to read.
ronbarn
My unit also makes 2 1/4 inch buttons. Send me a couple of personalized logo examples and I will make buttons, photograph them for an attachment and send them back for review. I have supplies left over from another project. The only problem may be to have someone to step up to the plate to organize the project. I think it is a great idea. Can we get "DFers" in there someplace? Peter J.Heizmann
I, too, agree that this is a great idea.--David...your idea. Please continue to manage your concept, digest the input you receive here. Then lean on us for whatever assistance you require. --Ron and Judy...thank you for the offers to utilize the button equipment/supplies.--Diz...I concur that our "forum handles" should be forefront. After introducing ourselves at various meets, we'll all get to know who-is-who.My thoughts are a "yellow" badge with a bold-type "DF" then one's screen name in bold-type should do. Although logos are nice, it will make it hard to read as other's posted above.(Diz...I'll give you a hand checking the NFL Roster for what team Sadie is playing linebacker. It is only appropriate that we invite her to the next DF Meeting, if, for any other reason, than, finding out where she is coming from telling us to get a life. Maybe a free button would do it?) Peter J. novaman
Here is the logo. I printed it and taped it to my kitchen cabinet. The car and computer image is a disquishable shape from about 30 feet away. I sent some member's button to ronbarn so he can make a couple and give us a photo of the finished product.Hope everyone likes it.
Guest
this whole project has gone far to smoothly.... with no objections from the peanut gallery, so something must be a-foot!So, I will throw down the gauntlet, and demand a CLASSIC to be on the logo, and a Rant and Rave disclaimer no less then 18 words long be added to the bottom of each button..!"I'm just a little stinker". now we have something to debate until next springs carts shows. novaman
I couldn't use the car I wanted to. It became a mess when I made the image small. So what better than the same car AACA uses since it is their forum anyways.

Guest
David ~ Love the design. Great concept because that is mostly what we on here [except R&R] are all about. The AACA Duryea represents all of our cars, and the computer is what brings us together. I suggest we limit the name to our handle, which could thus be in larger letters. We can introduce ourselves formally when we get together. Who we are in real life really isn't important. Who we are known as, IS .Put me down for one as HVS .hvs
1937hd45
GREAT looking logo! I'll take two. Can we make a large logo maybe 10 inches in diameter to stick on our vehicles in the flea market? This way if we are out and about others will know they have located another DF members flea market space.
novaman
I can make it any size upto 8" dia. at the moment. The idea of having in all DFer flea market spots is not a bad idea. Just hadn't gotten that far along in other ideas yet.
1937hd45
The fleamarket or on your car logo could work two ways. Fellow DF members would know where and who you are, the logo is so sharp that it would cause non members to ask what it is all about. Adding the web address might be a good idea on these signs. Guest
1. yes, get us a booth, 2.bring a laptop with a wireless internet connection, 3.have about 10 parts runners in said tent,4.take orders via DF web pages,5.have DF runners find my parts,6.ship said parts to my couch, were said butt is resting. 7.(don't worry I'll pay the runner's back, when I see them). Now that's auto restoration! novaman
the website address can be added for larger "projects". The buttons are too small. either the web address crowds everything badly or it gets totally lost.
