Hi all,

Still seeking the following for my TJ Richards & Co DA tourer:

Windscreen frame

Accelerator pedal grommet/fitting for footwell

C-section trim strip for chassis rails

19" artillery wheel rim - for spare, can be B-condition

Air cleaner

water jacket cover plate (have a replacement, but like the look of the original)

inner steering wheel switch/ring

bumpers

Please let me know if you can help.

Cheers!

Martyn, can help you out with trottle and light switch levers (good repros we had cast from originals by a jewelry foundry} as far as the rims go do you have the wide or narrow type think I have some spare wide ones. Sounds like your car is just about complete. We found windscreen heights vary for the Richards bodies so measure your posts, I have a average condition frame spare but it may not suit your posts. If I can assist you in any other way let me know. We have a tourer under restoration as well as a roadster and a six wire equiped sedan both on full registration. Best of luck with your project.

Hi Clare,

Thanks muchly for the reply! I only *really* need the light switch (the smaller one) as the throttle switch is fine. I was after an original if possible to match the 'worn' look, because I'm not doing this as a show car, just an honest driver. Still I'd be interested in your set if you are asking less than the Vintage and Classic Reproductions repros! Please email me about this, I'm at martyn.griffiths@det.wa.edu.au

Unfortunately I half-destroyed my posts earlier this year in a workshop accident, very painful as they *were* pretty good. I have replacements lined up but will check the height now - ta for the heads-up!!

I can't recall if my rims are the narrow or wide ones, wide was for sedans, wasn't it? Whatever they are, I've never actually eyeballed the 'other' sort, but I'll measure them and get back to you - ditto for the posts/windscreen.

Wow, that's a nice list of cars there; the DA Richards roadster is one of my fave cars, lucky you!

Hi Jake,

Dibs on Clare's pieces!! But you should check out this site:

PS Clare, my car was once totally complete, it was owned by my family and we drove it when I was a kid, my dad sold it in '84 but I bought it back a few years ago. It had been stripped down and some resto work done, but had lost hood, running boards, and other bits and pieces. Have replacements for some of them, but others "went missing" from my garage at some point, including a full set of bumpers. That's life I guess.

I do still need a fair few bits I haven't mentioned, because most of them can be had as repros or through the clubs and/or the chances of finding originals are about nil. (Good Australian tourer rear door outer and inner handle, anybody? Vintage and Classic Repros only make the front handle).

May as well ask while I'm at it - anyone got a set of Richards-body tourer hood irons? Oh, also bonnet catches, and the U-shaped tail-light stalk? Just the stalk, OK for the light.

PPS Clare, my pillars are the square type and are 17 3/4" from the hole in the scuttle to the top of the top thread. Would your spare frame fit do you think? Thanks again!

Martyn, the posts on your tourer are the same height as on our tourer the spare frame we have is too small and does not fit these posts. I am waiting for some control levers to be cast at the moment will photograph them when they arrive. Will work out cost then. Have you tried advertising in the Chrysler Restorers Club of Aust. magazine for the missing bits you need.
