padgett
If it stays on the predicted track, at 6:30 am on Sunday we should be in the eye (but should just be a Tropical Storm then).
sahein
I'm stuck in Tucson because the West Palm airport is closed. I hope that my house is still standing when I finally get back.
padgett
They seem to be closing airports awfully early for these storms, guess the airlines don't want any aircraft stuck here. Tourist trade is being heavily impacted. My concern is that if they evacuate a million people again and nothing happens, no one is going to leave home for the next one. We know how that is in NC as we have had some years that storms have really worked on us. Stay safe so we can hear from you on many more occassions.Steve

padgett
Well not much happened here, not even that much rain. Looked like Orlando snuck between the bands and Daytona got much more. Suspect effectively shutting Florida down for at least three days will be more of an issue.Atlantic is two degrees warmer than usual and since hurricanes are heat engines, that is not a good thing.Ivan looks to be on a similar track as Charley, just hope it doesn't make the same hook shot. May leave my windows boarded up for a few days.
