Guest
I have just aquired a beautiful 1970 Electra 455-4.
I am trying to get the engine running smoothly, I set up my timing light only to find there are no timing marks on the pulley. Is this usual?
How do I set the timing?
And when the secondarys open, under heavy throttle, the car baulks and fades until I back off.
All suggestions appreciated, I am new to the Buick world except for my old Rover P6 (Old Buick type 215 V8). billbuickgs
Slydel,
There is one grove cut in the balancer and the timing marks are on the driver's side front cover. The boog may be the timing ,but more like the vacum secondarys flopping open or laying open. There is a small allen head screw and tention spring on the passenger side of the carb that may need adjustment. If everything is right, you can fry the tires on that boat!!! Good Luck
Bill
