Jeffrey Backes
Here's a wierd one... Often (but not always) the left turn signal does not blink. This never happens with the right signal. At first I assumed this was a burned out bulb, but I check them both visually and with a meter they seem to be working.Any ideas?
ghostymosty
Sounds like the ground is flaky after the bulb/housing connection.
Jim Petitt
Had the same problem and mine turned out to be the wiring plug. Plug was full of the green goop and cleaning did not get the job done. I replaced the plug and it works great. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Jeffrey Backes
Where does a person get a new plug? How is it replaced?
Jim Petitt
Found my plug at the local NAPA. It is the plug at the back of the turning signal housing. Remove the black tube cover to work on removing and replacing the plug.
Jeffrey Backes
Well, it does appear to be some kind of wiring/connection problem. Wiggling the wires around at the connector, while the turn signal was active makes the bulb work intermittently. Thanks for the info.
Bill Reichert
Try cleaning the contacts and then use dielectric grease sparingly on both ends of the contacts. You might try pipe cleaners and throttle body cleaner. I use this on old steinway pianos with the verdigris. Let the contact thoroughly dry before reconnecting unless you want a small fire. This grease should be on all contacts and connections interior and exterior. In my post about the stubborn seat switches, the switches had dielectric grease installed from the factory.
