While looking for photos of early 1903-1908 Fords, I ran across a site that has numerous early auto pictures -- 1905 & 1911 Glidden Tour, early races, etc. It is the George Eastman House Still Photograph Archive at http://www.geh.org/ For example http://www.geh.org/ar/strip15/htmlsrc/m198130510221_ful.html#topofimage has what appears to be a 1903 Ford or 1903 Cadillac in the center of the picture.

If anyone knows of any similar sites with early photos, please let us know. I am looking for pictures of early 1903-1908 Ford photos to help determine the proper paint schemes for them. Or if you know of anyone who has any of the ex-Harrah's 1903-1908 Fords, I would like to contact them. There is a good chance they also may have the Harrah's Restoration Manual for the car they purchased. Bill Harrah put a lot of research into his restorations and I am hoping we can share some of that information with others. Thanks.

I went through all 35 pages last nite lost count of the cups of coffee, SO MANY pre 1908 race photos. Two shots of the Olds Pirate that I had never seen, 1911 Indy, Blitzen Benz, etc. Someone should identify all the photos, not all the captions are correct.

At the AACA Museum back in October they had a lot of the old early Model Fords in the basement display room. I can't remember if there was a 1903, but I'm sure someone might know. If not, check with Greenfield Village. Knowing how old Henry Ford was, I'd be willing that in 1903 you could get a Ford in any color as long as it was black grin.gif

Hi Steve, There are so many great photos I lost track of what was there, I'll be taking notes on my next tour. The one Pirate photo that was new to me was a headon shot on the beack at Daytona. There is one great Vanderbilt Cup (?) racer with wo banks of cylinders and two air ducts or radiators above the engine, got to find out what that is.

Steve, Have you given any thought as to how we could ID the cars and maybe add what general history we know about them? There are sone related photos fron the same events but they are mixed up and on different pages. The Geneva steamer is GREAT I'd never seen a photo of this car. It raced the Winton bullets, and Whisteling Billy (White Steamer) and Fords 999. TRUE automotive history!
