Glass Taillight lenses

When did Buick stop using Glass taillight lenses ? I have plastic on my Taillights but glass on the Turnsignals and Parking lights.<BR>Should I replace with glass ?<BR>This is for the 1950 Super.<BR>Thanks

I have never heard of glass for the tail lights on the 50, but the turn and back-up lights were glass, I believe. What you now have sounds correct.

I asked the question because I saw a pair of Glass lenses at a swap meet I went to this past weekend.<BR>They were not Guide though.<BR>I was wondering if they needed to be for Judging or if they are plastic.

Hi Bill,<P>My '51 had plastic lenses. I think the '50 & '51 used the same lenses.<P>I have not seen glass ones for those years.<BR>I think the glas ones were used through the late '40's.<P>Contact Rick Schick the head judge. Usually there will be "B" and the year on tail-light lenses.My 23 Buick even had "B"23 headlamp lenses !

Hey Bill - good to talk again. I've got a '49 Buick Super and it has plastic tail lights with the rest being glass also. I'm not 100% positive, but I believe the tail light lenses are GUIDE ones......
