our51super
While I was detailing the engine compartment, (1951, straight 8, 263 cu.in.), I thought it easier to remove the temp sensor out of the side of the block. I loosened and removed the nut and then I tried to pull the sensor out and guess what, it didn't come out so I pulled some more and I couldn't budge it. So I put the nut back on and masked it so I wouldn't get paint on it. I just have to know what's the proper way to remove that sensor from the block? It's not pull harder is it?<P>Thank you,
The Old Guy
If you pull harder ,you will end up sending it to be repaired. It is VERY difficult to remove the sensor, but patience and perseverance will prevail! If I remember right ,there is a tapped hole from one of the rocker arm stands that goes into the sensor hole. Take that bolt out and start applying PB blaster or WD-40 . Sooner or later it will come loose.
