How many Gn's were built. I thought they were extremely rare but every time I look at ebay I see several. I counted them tonight and there are 17 Grand Nationals for sale right now on ebay. Is this because they are fairly new and people are trading them hoping to make money or are there just that many of them around

The Regals, as a t-type came in a few different colors, with the turbo engine, but you could get a Regal t-type with the 307 olds engine as an option too. The WH1 was also called the Designer Package, I had one, had burgandy 60-40 cloth bench seat, but most of them came with the grey buckets, but there are a few, very few, with tan leather interiors too. Check out the GN T-type web site for lots of other trivia, at http://www.gnttype.org
Even though the numbers say the '87 had more horsepower and torque, the '86s had the exact same engine, the ratings for the '87 were submitted at 4400RPM, where the ratings for the '86 were at 4000 RPM, with the same exact engine, to me that makes the '86 GN worth more as there were only 5500 made versus 25K in '87. but of course I have an '86 GN, but had a '86 WH1, designer packager, I put almost 30K on before having it totaled by a suburban at the GM Tech Center in '94, bought it back from the insurance company spent a little over $300 for a door, fender and extras, and drove it for another 6 months or so before it went to Finland!
