Guest DeSoto Frank
When I bought my '41 De Soto, some long-gone previous owner had outfitted it with turn signals, scabbing back-up lights from a '50 Chrysler to use for the front lights, and adapting the rear fender lights to function as signals...For a turn signal switch, they used a "Guide" 6004 clamp-on unit. This is a sort of tear-drop shaped housing, with one red pilot lens, and an idler wheel for the self-cancel that's brought into contact with the hub of the steering wheel when the lever is moved to signal for a turn.Anybody know if this switch was just a generic GM aftermarket, or was it supplied on specific years & models of G.M. cars as OEM equipment?Thanks...
