imported_Phil Knapp
Are any of you pirates planning on going to the Salado meet at the Stagecoach Inn in April? Jake Fleming is usually there with his '41 3-w coupe. There usually aren't many Zephyrs there (most of these guys like USED CARS) but I'm hoping to drive my '39 Zephyr up on Saturday (day trip only). Photos from previous meets are at: http://community.webshots.com/album/35748203RaRhUU (2002) and:http://community.webshots.com/album/69421051BAwedm (2003). How about it Ace? imported_Phil Knapp
Unfortunately, my '39 Zephyr will not make it to the Salado, Texas meet. Columbia installation delays. I'm planning to be there with my Mark VIII again this year and will post a new photo album next week. I'll be adding some of my Columbia installation photos to the end of my Webshots album at: http://community.webshots.com/album/73152974bRlXIf as I go along. imported_Phil Knapp
If anybody's interested, I have a Webshots Photo Album of the Salado Texas LCOC meet on April 17, 2004 at: http://community.webshots.com/album/135140575wBXoEyThe first few cars are interesting, the rest are just "used cars". AceCollins
Phil,My son and I drove down for a while and looked over the cars yesterday. I was hoping for a few more LZ's. The LC were beautiful. Salado is a really neat town. Buicks were having a small gathering there, a 56 T-Bird rolled by a couple of times and a 1915 Model T was there, stopping for a few hours on its was to Kerrville. Beautiful day and great time.ace
imported_Phil Knapp
Sorry to have missed you, Ace. I didn't have a name tag, but I was the only one there wearing a "Lincoln Zephyr Owner's Club" hat. Jake Fleming wore his "LZOC" jacket for a while, but it soon warmed up and he took it off.Too bad there weren't more Zephyrs or early Continentals there. These guys like mostly what Dave Cole calls "Used Cars", but they're still Lincolns and most of them are pretty nice cars. Check out my photo album (previous post). Unfortunately, my Columbia installation ran into some delays and I didn't feel like putting the Zephyr back together to drive to Salado, then taking it apart again. AceCollins
I have had delays on my Columbia as well, had to obtain a vacuum kit, Also waiting on my shocks being rebuilt. I wore my white LZ Club shirt. Oh well, we will hook up in the future. Ace
