Smartin, have you seen this Centurion convertible?

Adam, I've enjoyed seeing the photos of your former '71 LeSabre sedan finished in the very attractive -- but rarely seen -- Twilight Turquoise.

Not surprisingly, I immediately thought of you when I saw this '71 Centurion convertible on Ebay. The car is certainly not perfect and it's hard to say from the photos whether the color is correct or not, but it looks like it might be Twilight Turquoise with the Pearl White interior. This would have been an unusual color combination, but it's easy to see how striking this car would have been when new. In fact, it could be a great looker again without a great deal of effort.

Enjoy!

I bookmarked the auction the first day it came out...

I'm very anxious to see how much it goes for. I REALLY love the color combo on this car. It is very stunning. Sometimes I wish I had some play money to snatch this thing up...and to get my old LeSabre back. Man oh man...maybe someday I'll be able to clone my LeSabre with another as solid as it was. CURSED HAIL DAMAGE!!!!!

Doing a side-by-side of the 2 green cars...

Adam, you're right. The color does seem pretty bright to be Twilight Turquoise, but colors can look significantly different depending on lighting conditions. Depending upon the "photo shop" work the seller did prior to putting the photos on Ebay, he may have also brightened the photos.

It would be interesting to e-mail the seller to learn the car's body plate information, including the paint codes. But there's a good chance the car has been repainted an incorrect color sometime during the last thirty-three years.

FINALLY got this reply::

the original color and it was repainted several years ago. The paint job is

really beautiful. I'm sorry, I don't know what the cowl tag information is!

Can you explain? </div></div>

The listing said that the car is in Seguin,Tx,,,that's where I'm at. I sent a "question to seller" thru ebay and have not recieved a reply...maybe he doesn't want it looked too closely. I don't need any more cars but would glad to look at it for anyone interested.....

Guest my3buicks

It is female owned, she bought it from a dealer a couple years ago who had it for many years. She replied rather quickly, could be away for the weekend.

I finally recieved an email yesterday afternoon about the time I was leaving for work so I did not call her until this morning. The auction was about to end with no sale (it did) and I offered some other way to sell such as listing on the buy/sell forum. If anyone is really interested I will look at the car and give a report.

The car did not meet the reserve and the auction has closed. I am asking

$7500 for the car. I have put over $2500 into it (new top, gaskets, carbuerator etc). Please let me know if you're interested.
