Old Crabby
If you have the old woven asbestos lining you can burn it out with a bernz o matic or welding torch so long as you do not heat it red hot, just enough to burn off the oil. If,on the other hand you have newer composite linings with brass, soak it out with gasoline or any suitable petroleum based solvent although I'm sure to catch hell for this. Guest Hal Davis (MODEL A HAL)
Try a spray can of Brake Parts Cleaner. You should be able to to find it at any auto parts store or the automotive department of any discount store.
palbuick
Why would you risk all your time money and work, trying to use the oil soaked lining. Buy new linings . I don't believe you can ever get the linings dry. I may be wrong but why chance it>Jim Schlf palbuick@aol.com
