Windshield replace

I'm wondering if there is a web site out there with detailed instructions on windshield replacement. I have a 1981 Parisienne that needs a windsheild. I have access to a 1988 Caprice donor for free. Winshields look the same so I thought that I'd like to give a shot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Most of the manuals, I'm not sure but I think it is in the body manual not the chassis manual that explains pretty exact on how to change the windshield. How far are you from Hamilton, Ont? I have friends there with a shop that may be able to help you. Email me. Roberta

If your question is regaurding to whether the windshield is the same - it is. All full-size RWD 1977-1990 General Motors cars have the same windshield. Even Cadillac Fleetwood until 1992.<P>Tony<P>72 Buick Electra 4dr hardtop<BR>89 Pontiac Safari 4dr wagon <BR>91 Honda Accord 4dr sedan

Roberta: Thanks for the offer, however my father-in-law is a heavy equipment mechanic and I could get their glass guy to do the work. I just thought that I'd like to try it since the replacement glass is free. BTW, I'm about an hour east of Hamilton ... if their's no traffic.<P>Shaffer: Thank's for the info. I kind of figured that the glass would be the same for that style car.

There are directions for glass replacement buried somewhere in <A HREF="http://www.buicks.net" TARGET=_blank>www.buicks.net</A> I used them to successfully replace the glass in my Sportwagon. No leaks and it was 15 bucks for the ribbon-weld!
