Guest imported_JohnW
My Reatta idles a tad rough in drive but smooth in park and the car has 98,000 miles. Not enough to make a big thing about, but my question is, what is the most likely problem/fix? It runs great, and I get around 20 mph city/highway combination with no engine misses, no exhaust smoke or no foul exhaust smell. No problem starting cold or hot even after an extended period of being shut down. Guess I shouln't complain.............
Roadster90
Most likely cleaning the IAC (idle air control valve) will help. Do you have a manual to facilatate finding its location? If not Reatta.net has manual with illustrations and the search function of this forum has much on this subject. Not a big thing but it is irritating....good luck. Guest EDBS0
Second vote for the IAC, 90% of the time it is the problem.Less likely is the EGR valve and ..Equally less likely is a slight vacuum leak.

Roadster90
In the FSM go to page 8D1-6 for the general location of the Mass Air Flow Sensor and IAC ("H" and "2"). IAC is next to the MAF and both are mounted on the throttle body. Next go to page 6E3-2-7 and figure C2-7 at the top left of the page ... exact location of the IAC on the throttle body. Two screws remove the IAC (also has a rubber o ring)...watch out, the screws are stainless steel and are not magnetic if you fumble them.
