Ron did such a great job, boy its hard to keep it as good as he did. We have a 1968 Chrysler 300 convertable. A picture will be in my news letter as I am trying a few new things like Vehicle of the month. Ours is red so I am using it for Valentines addition. Hope to talk to some of you soon. I have the recent reincarnation of the '300', a '99 300-M, and just love it. It's a great tour car. Since I have 7 Packards; I don't think I'll try to acquire an original 300. No garage space left and even though I'm retired, not enough time left to restore them all! What are your questions? Some people use screen names to be a little private and others their real names. The Admin/Mod folks use our names so everyone knows us, but many people who have screen names are also known by their real names and faces and many of us have met in real life several times. That means you have a message. Click on the mailbox and you will see a message from me. E-mail me and I can get your registration changed or just reply to my message. We'll try to get you going. You can use any name you want as a user name. You need to put your address, e-mail address, and other info you want(not required) in the registration area. I can help you with that, I hope. Although Im not on the publications committee any longer, I still enjoy keeping involved with newsletters and stand ready to offer any advice/assistance needed. All you need to do is ask. I know it's extra expense but I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of issues if you can send them on - I could arrange to send a couple of issued from our Tidewater Region (The Mudflap) in return. My mailing address is on the AACA website and in the front of AACA Magazine. But, I found that I really enjoy doing it, & I suspect you will to. It really is a lot of fun.By the way, my husband & I have 300's too - a '70 & '71 (mine is the '71 & is also red & white). Great cars-& can't beat the 440.One of the best ways I have found to get the ball rolling on a feature car column (or to keep it rolling if former editor had one), is for you to take your camera to every meeting & event your club has. Take a picture of the member's cars yourself-try to include the owner in the photo. One thing I have done is to make up a simple form (name, car, how equiped, unusual story behind car, etc), with my name & address on bottom, & I ask them to fill it out & mail it to me. For me & my club, I found that worked best. You may want to try that or come up with something else that works for you.Have fun with it. One can learn a lot from what others are doing, and it may give you ideas on how to fill the blank pages in each issue. And I know from my own experience that the other editors, from Master Editors on down, will be very willing to answer your questions. Remember, there are NO stupid questions. We're all just in different places on the learning curve that has no end. I couldn't get the printer to print the back side of the page. I went back through "print properties" and reclicked 2 sided printing. Printed 2 more pages..FRONT SIDE ONLY..UGHHHHH! Back to print properties, the box had unclicked itself(??). Reset printer, then I clicked another box in this area without thinking. Printer pulls in first page, prints, then sucks the page back for backside printing, All Right! Pick up the page, looks ok, turned it over?, something wrong?? Front page perfect, back page printed upside down <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> UGHH! Back to the printer properties. I finally got her going. Mostly finished now. So, Debby, even when you think you have all of this newsletter business figured out, the old PC Baddies will throw you another curve ball. We've all been there, so call us if you need help. I'll recognize John Chapman from California for helping me out with my computer memory problems. If something doesn't come soon, I might have to see about getting guards posted at the Publications seminar.As you know, we both use the Hp 1700 printer. When the backside prints upside down, check your print properties. Somehow on the features tab, tablet has gotten checked instead of booklet. This will cause the two pages to print upside down from each other. Learned this one the hard way.I have also been meaning to write about how to determine how much ink you use on each print job. This came up on another thread.When you installed the HP drivers, you should have loaded a HP 1700 toolbox also. If this does appear on your desktop, check your program files. --------------------------------1. Open your toolbox.2.On the tab marked 'printer status' you should see a visual representation of the current ink levels.3. If you do not see this now, click on the 'ink cartridge information' buttom just under the visual. This will open up another window, which will tell you some stuff about your cartridges. When you close this window, the visual representation of your cartrdgies will now show up.4. When I am going to press, I simply note the ink levels for the black, cyan, magneta, and yellow at the start of the job and the end. This way I can figure the cost of the ink. I have enough trouble getting the job done each month without having to worry about the cost.
