The set-up you are referring to was called compound carburetion by Buick. It was available on the 1941-42 models, both the small and large engines. However, you should check with one of the experts such as "The Old Guy" because there may be interference from the front motor mounts on the later straight eight cars.

Mrbuick714 is one of the experts and he has spoken. Rest assured there is a problem with the exhaust manifold from the 1941 or 42 engine interfering with the left front motor mount.

The dual intake will work ,but you will need to block the top of the exhaust manifold. The area that supplies heat to the intake. I did just the opposite on my 40. I do not have the mount interference problem, so I used the exhaust manifolds ,and left the single carb. The dual carbs are really more for show than functionality. I had a 37 Century years ago and it did not run any better with the dual carbs than it did the single.I just put the Roadmaster carb on my super, and it runs well.
