hilgretasmom1
The Judging manual states that a National First Prize Plaque "must be affixed to the vehicle". There is no good place (grill) on the front of a BMW Isetta 300 to mount the plaque. Is it acceptable to mount the plaque on a polished luggage rack on the rear of the car? Guest
It just has to be mounted in a clearly visible location. Some of mine are on the front license plate as we have two of those here in the wilds of Wyoming. Tradition has placed it on the front of the car, but it isn't written in stone that it must be there. I have seen them mounted under the hood in a conspicuous [at least when the hood is up] location. Most people look for a conspicuous spot so that everyone can see that they have a 1st prize winner. hvs
Guest
You might wish to fashion some sort of bracket that can hold the badge, and which can then, in turn be fastened to, say, the bumper or some other spot on the front of the vehicle (as we have done on our VW Beetle, which also doesn't have a front grill). When you're participating at a national meet like Hershey, where the cars are parked with noses outward (back to back with the next row of cars), the spectators walking by will then be able to easily observe your badge. If you really want to see some ingenuity in AACA badge mounting, walk through the motorcycles section at a national meet some time!
