Boy, good question, my experience was in New Jersy. I can't remember the track, only the feelings with the ground six inches below my butt. That would have been something though if I was at the same track as your car.

My 65 E-Jag! Funny how with the top down at 120 the broad front bow of the top has a tendency to try to put itself back up when there's no tonneau on it. Also thank goodness for the "oh-[@!#!$]" bar the wife was holding onto. First and last car to do over 100 in. Just one of those things a guy has to do in his life. cool.gif

My first 100mph run was in a 1971 Formula 400 Firebird. My father had "enhanced" it's performance for both straight line and SCCA circletrack racing.

It was a stretch of rural Arizona 2 lane road. My father was with me (really) and told me to open it up. I'd have pushed it past 135, but the passenger window popped out of its frame. (No, didnt soil the seat)

I bet it had another 10 or 15mph in her.

BTW... that wasnt the only "first" in that car. But we'll save that for another post. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />)

First car to do 100+ was my 1969 Olds Cutlass sport heading to the Jersey shore. Last time was in my ex's 2001 Porsche Boxter. I was allowed to take it for a spin while in Dallas, soooo I went out with Jonathan and he said, "Dad, open her up!" About 135 mph easy with plenty more to go.

Oh,...I forgot...I got the '47 Caddy up to 95 last summer. The speedo read 102 but its off by about 7 mph so I really can't claim it. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> But it was a steady and smooth 95.

Randall, I like that,"my ex let me drive the Porche with my son". You could almost start another thread with..."The cars that left with the ex-wife!" <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> Wayne

Dizzy, What are you talking about? It couldn't be my wife, she doesn't like "older" men. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Wayne
