Dear Ace,A number of years ago my brother used the factory fog lights on a 39 Ford convertible sedan, looked great if you like those lamps and served the purpose. Those lamps and brackets are available from Kanter in New Jersey.I have seen oval headed bumper bolts with a LED installed in them for this purpose, think they were advertised in the GoodGuys magazine.Let me know if any of this interests you i will try to get some more info.diz <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Hey Ace -

Another solution I've heard, which the Ford flathead guys use alot, is to make a modification to the current headlights, adding a small bulb in toward the top of the reflector. I don't know the details, but this is an alternative if you don't have the fogs.

Hi Ace,

In my 1939 Ford Convertible Street Rod that I built in 1962, I stuffed 12 volt sealed beams inside the original buckets and added a socket with a yellow 2-filament bulb at the bottom of the bucket for parking lights and turn signals. (check out the attached photo). It turns out that this modification wasn't very visible to the casual observer and the yellow lights showed up pretty good as turn signals, even with the headlights on. You may not want to go this far on an original car, but it worked fine for me at the time. I have an entire Webshots photo album of this car at: http://community.webshots.com/album/18281656jhkDSUwrmg if you're interested.

Good luck!

Thanks again. by the way, great looking Ford! I have noted an extra socket in my 37, on the one lense I have taken off. I am guess that is for a parking light. Just didn't realize that it would be bright enough to work as a blinker. I will have to check that out too.

Ace
