Manuel Posted September 6, 2003 Posted September 6, 2003 Hello John,My KC hubcaps are 7" in dia & are 3/4" wide when attached to the wheel. They are slightly curved & have the "DODGE" name in capitals across the face. I don't have a picture of them. If u need any more info let me know. Manuel
Guest Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 Hello,Thanks for your response.I'm thinking that the hubcaps, that i have, may fit the artillery wheels for a 1935 Dodge pickup.I bought them on Ebay.I already had one hubcap which fits perfectly on my 17 inch wire wheels. That artillery hubcaps(?) will not fit.The photo on Ebay looked the same. When i recieved them,i saw that they have a slight taper where they snup up to the wheel hub.Looks like i will resale the hubcaps.Anyone out there, wanting these, please e-mail me.Thank you,John Hurt
Guest DodgeKCL Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 I think Dodge started using the tapered logo on their hubcaps in 1934. In 1933 the Dodge logo was still 'square' and the truck and car hubcaps were flat but about 1/2' thick and exactly the same as Plymouth cars. In 1934 the Dodge hubcap became,I believe both truck and car, a raiseddome with the word Dodge tapered at both ends. I believe that there is a slight difference in truck and car in that the word 'Dodge' stays flush to the face on the car hubcap but raises up at the ends on the truck cap. The 1934 caps stayed the same for 1935.The '33,'34 and '35 truck and car caps all have 3 sets of 'fingers' on a ring at the back tohold them into a plain hole in the wheel. Although the tapered logo anddome style stayed the same for 1936 I believe '36 was the start of thefingers moving to the wheel opening. Caps for '36 and '37 have justa slight curl at the rear and snap into the fingers on the wheel. The '37cap is flatter about twice the diameter of a '33 or '34/5. Hope this helps. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Guest Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 Thanks for your response. The caps that i have flair out at the finished base where they meet the wheel hub.The logo is rectangular and is about 3 1/4 inches long. This is identicle to the wire wheel hubcap except for the flaired bottom and the male recieving bottom which fits into the hub.The diameter of the hub side is to large to fit into the hub opening.Overall diameter of finished outward side is 7 1/4 inches. There are three retainers on reciever end of cap. Thanks,John
